Refrigeration/HVAC Technician

About the Opportunity

Are you a skilled Refrigeration Mechanic looking for your next rewarding role in the beautiful tropical north? We are currently seeking a highly motivated and Qualified Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team in Cairns.

This is initially offered as a contract position, but for the right candidate who demonstrates reliability and a strong work ethic, there is a clear pathway for extension or permanent placement. You will be working across a variety of sites, ensuring the optimal performance of vital HVAC-R systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct service, maintenance, and complex breakdown repairs on a wide range of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
• Install and commission new refrigeration and HVAC units.
• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with strict safety and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate service reports and documentation for all completed jobs.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients on-site.

Mandatory Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following:

• Trade Qualification: Certificate III in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
• Core Experience: Proven service and breakdown experience.
• Licensing: Current ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence and relevant state electrical training/restricted licence.
• Safety Credentials: Construction White Card.
• Transport: Valid Australian Manual Driver's Licence.
• Fitness for Work: You must be able to successfully pass a comprehensive pre-employment Physical Assessment and a Drug & Alcohol Test.

Highly Desirable Skills

• A strong mix of both domestic and commercial experience is highly preferred.
